The trip round the Isle of Soay was well worth the effort of a long drive. Because of the pandemic restrictions boat trips from Elgol are not in operation so there was plenty of space to park. Seven of us were on the trip Paul, Steve, Martine, Iain, Ken, Liz, & Ron.
Conditions were ideal, we were on the water by 10 and paddled across to the north harbour of Soay where we stopped for an early lunch and a wander round the remains of the whale oil extraction buildings.
A quick dash to the summit was made through bracken, tussocks and hidden bogs. .
Then we rounded the west side of the island, a continuous line of Torridonian sandstone cliffs washed clean by waves.
Then into Camus nan Gall on the S side for a final stop before heading back to Elgol. We had a following breeze all the way round
