The forecast was daunting but the estuary gave plenty of shelter from the SE wind. Six of us met Ally, Jess, Stephen, Martine, Ken and Paul. We started by heading across to the River Morar falls and practiced paddling technique in the eddy. At low tide (springs) we decided it was a place for a helmet if you were doing any extravagent manouvres.
We then paddled down the river with sand banks either side. On reaching the open sea we turned south to the Camusdarrach beach still sheltered from the SE wind. We landed on the beach in a gentle surf.
After a quick (it was cold!) bite to eat and some tips on how to get off the beach through surf we headed back. By this time there no sand banks.
